____People of Thebes, I died for you. Blood has washed the injustice done to a son and a brother, Eteocles and I have perished equally. But unequally in death we are treated : wandering without any purpose, dead but not part of the kingdom of Hades, dead but ghostly present in this earth, this earth to which I do not belong. I embrace the wandering of my father Oedipus – blind among sighted – I am dead among the living. Creon is your ruler and he is guilty in regards to the laws of God. You my supporters, you my sisters, do not act unwisely. You are part of the livings, to the laws of your King you must obey. He is the one who will have to answer for his actions to the Olympian Gods. I am part of the dead people but I cannot rejoin my world : it is against nature. You, the livings, are part of the earthly world, do not join the world of death for me, do not commit this unnatural crime or you would be doomed to wander for the eternity like me.
____To Ismene : take care of our beloved sister, she is doomed – she know she is – but try to protect her as well as you can.
Ismene, you have to live, you are the last viable branch of the Labdacids, be strong and do not succumb to fatality.
____My beloved people of Thebes, one day will come where the natural order will be reestablished and justice will triumph. Until this day, I will always be among you, my people, as a deadly presence, a ghost among the livings.
